- Must be active in peacebuilding
- Must operate in Nigeria
- Must be a non-for-profit organisation
- Must not have a particular political religious or ethenic bias
- Must believe in non-violence as a tool for resolving conflict
- Must be willing to promote the principle and activities of WANEP
